What are the Local Media Days?
The Local Media Days are a big meeting.
People come together there.
These people work at radio and television.
Or they work at other media.
The event is on 24 and 25 June 2026.
It takes place in Nuremberg.
The event used to have a different name.
It was called: Local Broadcasting Days.
The event has existed for more than 30 years.
Who comes to the Local Media Days?
Many different people come to the event.
For example:
- Radio staff
- Television staff
- Journalists
- People who make videos
- People who make podcasts
The visitors come from Germany.
They also come from Austria and Switzerland.
More than 900 visitors come every year.
What happens at the Local Media Days?
At the Local Media Days, participants can learn a lot.
They can exchange ideas with other people.
There are many offers:
- Talks by about 80 experts
- Workshops where you can take part
- Discussions about important topics
- An exhibition with new technology
- A party in the evening
Most talks are in German.
Some talks are in English.
Why do the Local Media Days exist?
Media are changing very quickly today.
In the past there was only radio and television.
Today there are also:
- Podcasts
- Videos on the internet
- Social media
The Local Media Days help the participants.
They learn new things there.
They exchange ideas with others.
They get ideas for their work.
Who organises the event?
The Local Media Days are organised by:
Medien.Bayern GmbH.
The event is supported by:
Bavarian State Office for New Media.
The short form is: BLM.
There is also a prize at the Local Media Days.
The prize is called: BLM Media Prize.
This is an important prize for good media work.
Where are the Local Media Days?
The event is at NCC Mitte in Nuremberg.
This is a big building.
It is on the trade fair grounds.
