Media Literacy on air

How Radio Programs Help Children and Teens Develop Digital Skills

Many children and young people are active online but lack real digital literacy—and public media hardly play a role in their daily lives anymore. Radio work creates a counterbalance: it makes media understandable, tangible, and malleable again. The panel demonstrates how this practice works: through their own research, production, and speaking, young people learn to contextualize content, understand its impact, and take responsibility in the digital space. In this way, media literacy is developed practically rather than theoretically, and radio work becomes a key component of modern media education.
