In 2026, the Lokalmedientage emerge from the Lokalrundfunktage, which for more than 30 years have been the most important networking platform for media professionals from radio and television. With the repositioning under the Lokalmedientage brand, we are responding to the transformation of the radio and TV landscape, which has long been defined beyond the traditional “on-air” signal.

Against this backdrop, we are looking even more relevantly and in a more connected way toward the future of local media, which today are no longer just local broadcasters but are increasingly becoming content hubs: whether podcasts, social video, or digital feeds – distribution is cross-media and cross-genre. Successful journalism takes place where the audience is.

The Lokalmedientage are becoming a home for everyone who creates local content – from radio and TV professionals to local journalists from across the DACH region. They showcase pathways to new business models and dare to look beyond the horizon.

The program of the Lokalmedientage includes panel discussions, presentations, and masterclasses by around 80 national and international speakers. As part of the opening event, the BLM Media Award is presented and the results of the Bavarian Radio Analysis are announced.
